Meet Sam
Hi, I'm Sam – one half of the voices and minds behind Halfway to Healing.
I thought I’d be best to introduce myself and share who I am, what brought me here, and what I hope to offer through this podcast.
For as long as I can remember, I've lived at the crossroads of creativity, resilience, and health challenges. I’ve been diagnosed with a bucket list of chronic physical and mental health conditions (gastroparesis, lupus, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism — just to name a few!). I’ve spent much of my life learning how to navigate a world that wasn’t exactly built with people like me in mind.
But here's the thing:
These experiences didn’t just shape me — they gave me a fire.
They taught me how to advocate for myself, how to find strength in softness, and how to build a life that feels like home even when everything else feels unpredictable.

Through Halfway to Healing, I bring my raw, unapologetic, lived experience to the conversation. The beautiful, the messy, the complicated. I'm passionate about talking openly about the realities of living with disability and chronic illness because I believe that honesty creates connection.
On top of that, I bring my background as a branding specialist, graphic designer, and storyteller. Creativity is my way of making sense of the world — and you'll probably hear that come through in the way I share my stories, metaphors, and reflections.
When I'm not deep in conversations about health, you'll usually find me lost in something creative. I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan (seriously, don’t challenge me to a trivia battle or ask me about the conspiracy theories unless you have a good few hours), and I love sewing, drawing, and basically anything that lets me make something with my hands. Creativity isn’t just a hobby for me — it’s a lifeline. I’m also a big fan of horror movies (the creepier, the better) and sitcoms like Friends, because sometimes you need a little laughter to balance out the chaos.
These little passions are a big part of who I am, and they definitely sneak into the way I see the world — with heart, humor, and a little bit of edge.
If you’re looking for glossy perfection, you won’t find it here.
But, If you’re looking for real stories, real feelings, and real hope — you’re in the right place.
Through each episode, my goal is simple:
To make you feel seen. To remind you (and myself) that healing isn’t linear, and that even in the messy middles — there’s so much worth celebrating.
Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to walk this path with you.
